Welcome to the Shockoe Valley Streets Improvement Project. The purpose of the project is to develop a comprehensive set of transportation improvements to the Broad Street area of Shockoe Valley in Richmond, Virginia. The project scope uses Vision Zero and Complete Streets principles adopted by City Council and supported by the mayor to strengthen access to the existing grid for all modes and includes:
Converting Oliver Hill Way from one-way to two-way.
Roundabouts at various intersections within the Shockoe Valley Area for safety, traffic calming, and place making.
Installation of a shared use path and 2-way cycle track for people of all ages and abilities that provides a connection to the Virginia Capital Trail and Cannon Creek trail

As part of the project development, the project team will engage the community to:
Identify key transportation needs.
Define a vision for the future.
Identify feasible, context sensitive multi‐modal transportation improvements to address the community’s needs and enhance quality of life for area residents and users of the corridor.
Develop concepts, including cost estimates, to implement the desired improvements and recommend strategies to prioritize improvements along the corridor.
